Out of blatant self-interest of promoting travel,
the public needs to get passionate about cars again - we need them to
fall in love with the car as a mode of transport, get behind the wheel and enjoy the journey.
The car is the
ultimate prize of consumerism, we need to rid ourselves of
senseless new-age guilt and celebrate the benefits of living in a modern, mobile
society while burning carbon.
We've agonised over car manufacturers producing bland, insipid vehicles that bow to political correctness and eco-guilt. We've even accused Holden of feminising their brand.
If more car brands could evoke passion, then more commuters would be converted into travellers.
Maybe there's still hope...
